Ceramic Wall Clock by Rowland , 1950’s

About the Item

Original wall clock in Ceramic 1950’s, it’s « rooster model » in perfect condition Colors are wonderful between green , Amber and iviry . Pat Rowland, born in Leeds, Yorkshire, took the Fine Arts courses of this city, discovers Paris with Hubert Givenchy, the brother of the famous couturier. Then she joined the Royal College of Art in London where she met Joe Rowland who would become her husband. In 1965 the couple bought the old Patllary farmhouse in Oms. They felt comfortable there and in accordance with the wild beauty of the place and will eventually become the most Catalan of the British. This exhibition, at the Palais des Congrès, of coals, engravings, travel diaries, sculpting tools, resins, alabasters, olive wood, bronzes, terracottas, impresses with the diversity of shapes and materials used. These works show the mastery of an artist who has arrived at the top of her art. She has gone beyond the search for aesthetics to drag us much further, into her world oscillating between a refined and abstract figurative. His "Pat shot" is recognizable among a thousand. A kind of osmosis between mind and matter, nimbed with elegance. Modeling and chisel allow him to give the measure of his talent and to translate his unbridled appetite for living, his emotions and suggests an intense experience. She draws her inspiration from her environment, the beauty of nature and the human body that she sometimes represents in suggestive and somewhat daring positions.
