This is a beautiful antique giltwood armchair, in the fabulous Regency style, and early 20th century in date. The gilded chair has been beautifully carved with reeded lines and medallion plaques. The arms and supports scroll out in exaggerated curves which support the lime green upholstered back and seat. Add a touch of class to your home with this exceptional antique armchair. During the Regency period it was fashionable to copy the classical furniture of the Roman and Greek times. Furniture had stopped evolving in design and had moved back to classical forms. The Pioneer designers who represented this period were: Thomas Hope (1770-1831), George Smith (1804-28), Henry Holland (1745-1806)c George IV had a major influence over the furniture makers of the time. This is a lovely antique French ormolu, gilt bronze, mantel clock with Bleu Celeste Sevres porcelain panels, by the renowned maker, Raingo Freres, Paris, circa 1850 in date. The clock features a beautifully cast pair of ormolu cherubs surmounted with game, to include fish, boar and pheasant, above a circular enamel dial with Arabic and Roman numerals. The dial is flanked by porcelain panels with gilt highlights, depicting playful cherubs. The clock has an 8 day striking movement and is complete with pendulum, bell and key. This incredible clock is a must have for any collector of ornamental and decorative pieces. Condition: The clock is in really excellent working condition the movement having been cleaned and serviced by our horologist, and the ormolu case having been polished, please see photos for confirmation. This is a superb antique French gilt bronze mantel clock with Bleu Celeste porcelain panels in the Sevres manner, circa 1860 in date. The case crowned with two cherubs holding laurels one holding a mask emblematic of theatre, flanking an oval Bleu Celeste porcelain panel of the playwright Molière . The base decorated with ormolu flowers is raised on turned feet and inset with Sevres plaques decorated with cherubs. This is a superb quality antique French malachite, bronze and ormolu mantel clock dating from Circa 1850 in date. It features Louis XVI seated on an ormolu throne chair whilst reading a book. The clockmakers name is inscribed on the backplate. It is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. This is a stunning Italian Florentine carved giltwood mirror, dating from the late 20th century. The mirror plate is within a boldly-carved and pierced scrolling foliate frame within an egg and dart border. This is a very decorative item which will look amazing in any room.
