A George III later scarlet japanned long case clock, Thomas Moore, Ipswich. The arched hood surmounted by brass finials of wing spread eagles above a glazed door opening to a twelve inch dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring. Third quarter of the 18th century.

This English George II period 18th century table clock consists in a scarlet-japanned and parcel-gilt rectangular case with elaborate chinoiserie decoration and pierced frets to the sides. Resting on a molded base with a shaped apron and bracket feet, the case presents an inverted bell top with a brass fold-down handle flanked by four vase-shaped finials as well as a foliate engraved backplate. The door opens on a break arch brass dial featuring a Roman chapter ring with Arabic minutes, nicely laid out with gilt foliate corner spandrels and a subsidiary strike/silent dial within the arch.
