About the Item

Important modernist glazed ceramic kitchen clock designed by Max Bill for Junghans, Germany 1956, featuring a 60-minute timer, a mechanical 8-day movement, a yellow-and-white ceramic case with a kidney-shaped gold rim, domed glass in a polished brass frame, polished brass hands, and a line dial similar to that of Max Bill's design clocks, underglaze finish. This original old clock is a well-known design icon, shown in many important books and catalogues or present in exhibitions in important museums like MOMA Excellent quality, comes with a winding key. It will be a nice addition to any modern decorated home, interior or kitchen. The clock movements were recently overhauled by a watchmaker. The pivot bearings were bushed out with bronze bushings, the pivots were polished, and everything was cleaned and oiled. Both clock movements are in perfect condition and run perfectly. The main movement runs with a powerful amplitude of over 360°. All other parts have been cleaned, the brass parts polished to a high gloss, and sealed with Renaissance Antique Wax. The seal and polish will need to be renewed depending on use. Signs of wear are only visible on the winding hole. The clock is in excellent condition, as the pictures should show and it works just as well. Dimensions (W x H x D): 26cm x 18cm x 5cm
