Addison Model 5D Red Butterscotch Marbled Catalin 'Courthouse' Tube Radio
About the Item
This Art Deco-styled vintage tube radio was made by the Addison Industries Ltd. of Canada in circa 1939. This is Addison's Model 5D, otherwise known as the 'Courthouse" model to collectors, and is done in a red and butterscotch marbled Catalin This heavily marbled case is accented with butterscotch Catalin grill posts and knobs and a black dial plate with a greenish tinge with cream Art Deco styled numbers. The case is in very good period condition showing no cracks, chips or hairlines and the knobs work although one has been changed at some point. This radio is in working order and has been tested on AM stations and attains considerable volume and clarity.
There is cosmetic damage on the bottom of the radio as pictured above.
