Bronze Inkwell of a Sleeping Putto

About the Item

Small bronze inkwell dating from the first part of the 19th century. The lid of the inkwell represents a bed on which a putto is dozing. The whole rests on a rectangular base decorated with a frieze of ovals with four feet in leafy hooves. It is composed of two cups, one for ink in porcelain and the other for powder, as well as two pen holders.
