This extremely fine George III neoclassical antique sterling silver bread basket was made in Sheffield in 1777 by Richard Morton & Company. This beautiful basket stands on a flared beaded foot pierced with arched vertical pails. The main body is decorated with beaded bands and pierced with wave motifs, flower heads in ovals and plain vertical pails. The main body is also engraved with laurel leaf garlands. The arched, beaded, swing handle is pierced with oblong motifs, stylised quatrefoils and roundels. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver gallery inkstand; an addition to our ornamental office silverware collection This exceptional antique George V sterling silver gallery inkstand has a rectangular form. This inkstand is fitted with a hallmarked gallery, embellished with impressive panels of pierced angular diaper pattern decoration. The body of the sterling silver inkstand is ornamented with a gadroon decorated border to the rim. The internal frame of the Stand is divided into different sized compartments by pierced decorated dividers reflecting the same design to that of the body. The original hallmarked base has a sliding action which allows it to be removed for cleaning purposes. This antique sterling silver inkstand is supported by four impressive claw and ball feet. The two smaller internal compartments retain the original square glass ink bottles with chamfered edges. The ink bottles retain the original plain hallmarked silver cylindrical mounts fitted with hinged hallmarked covers.
