About the Item
Encrier set, the richly-veined Verde Antico Marble platform mounted with a pair of gilt-Bronze inkwells. These flanking a finely-cast bust of Napoleon in military dress.
The gilt-bronze finely crafted, with intricate border designs and Napoleon's features given a life-like realism. A similar Encrier after a design by Basil depicts Napoleon (though without gilding) wearing with his trademark Tri-cornered hat.
The inkwells with inset glass cups, likely original to the piece. The marble platform with recessed pen tray, moulded edges, and mounted atop shaped bun feet.
