Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and Scottish Agate Letter Opener
About the Item
A beautiful antique, Victorian era Scottish agate and Silver letter opener.
This is such an elegant piece, it has a mother of pearl blade for carefully opening all your important mail.
The handle is made up from delightful high polished Scottish agate panels set into cool sterling silver, the silver is heavily chased and engraved all over with a floral design.
The agates include Montrose, red Jasper, bloodstone and banded agate.
Such a magnificent and well designed piece.
Unmarked tests as sterling silver, C1880s Victorian era.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some signs of use and wear commensurate with age, some yellowing / discolouration to the mother of pearl and nibbles to the edges of the blade, blade is slightly loose but still secure.
