Sterling Silver & Mother-of-pearl Paper Knife Birmingham 1907

About the Item

This sterling silver handled paper knife features a blade of Mother-of-pearl of lovely colour and figure, and is a rare survivor. Due to the fragility of the blade, these are obviously much rarer than those with more durable blades. Made in Birmingham by Crisford and Norris in 1907, it is in excellent condition, with only a couple of very, very small nicks to the edge of the blade to detract from it. The whole piece is 255 mm (10 inches) long and 25 mm (1 inch) wide at the very end of the blade. The silver handle is 25 mm (1 inch) wide and 19 mm (3/4 of an inch) thick.
