Murano Vintage Red White Painted Face Italian Art Glass Santa Paperweight Figure
About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown red, white and gold flecks Italian art glass Santa Claus sculpture / paperweight. Documented to the Fornasa De Murano A L'Insegna Del Moreto, circa 1960-1970, with original import gallery label still attached. It reads "Golden Crown E & R Italy" within a black and gold shield label. The Santa has a painted face with white beard and mustache, and little black eyes. The little white buttons on the had and coat are also painted on. He has a white brim hat with gold leaf, as well as a hand painted face. It also has gold leaf around the bottom edge of the red suit. The red is not a solid color, but transparent. There are 4 felt pads on the bottom, that has kept the label pretty much intact. Would make a great display piece on any desk or side table. Great for any Christmas holiday decor. Late Mid-century era. Measures: 6 5/8" high x 3 1/2" wide.
