An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver double photograph frame; an addition to our diverse ornamental collection This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver frame has a rectangular shaped form with two rectangular internal windows. The surface of the antique photo frame is embellished with impressive embossed fluted decoration, accented with paralleling undulating border. The upper portion of the photograph frame incorporates a central circular vacant cartouche. This sterling silver double frame is fitted with the original leatherette back and hinged strut. This fine Victorian frame is inset with the original bevelled glass panels. Such frames with the original bevelled glass and leatherette back, in this combination of structure, indicates the high quality of the piece and are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. Condition This antique sterling silver double photo frame is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The frame has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The original leatherette covering is in excellent condition. The impressive embossed decoration is sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cartouche are all very clear; the first portion of the maker's mark has wear and in illegible. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware.
