Cassetta Frame with Fruit and Leaf Decorations, Italy, 1st Half 17th Century

About the Item

A tall rectangular frame featuring intricately carved and brown-patinated fruit and leaf motifs. The inner sight edge is adorned with a classic egg-and-dart frieze, while the outer frame is embellished with elaborate rocaille motifs. The corners are accentuated with prominent acanthus leaves. An impressive example of Italian craftsmanship, ideal for framing paintings or mirrors. Inner Dimensions: 92 x 72 cm
