Very nice and large drawing and oil painting. Representing a young peasant woman, farmer giving hay to a goat. Very good quality of execution and beautiful colors. Signed « M.Miroude ». In the style of Hugues Merle. Merle is a French painter of the 19th century. He is a genre painter and portraitist. He deals most often with moral or sentimental subjects. He exhibited several times at the Salon and worked at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. The work measures 203 inch x 157.5 inch without the frame
