Mirrored Glass Picture Frame with Etched Sailing Ship, 1940s
About the Item
This stunning 1940s large silver mirror glass picture photo frame features a separate mirrored glass base with beveling all around supporting a mirrored glass sheet with a reverse etched antique galleon sailing boat. The design is adorned with frosted sails, and there is a space for a picture view, also ornate with reverse etching around the photograph view. The picture frame has a clear glass back to enclose the photograph and protect the design. There is no visible maker's mark.
The frame is in good condition, with no chip or crack on the mirror. Due to regular use and aging, there are only some misses of silvered coating on the edges. Check the close-up with the arrow.

Overall: 16.57 in wide (42 cm) x 5.13 in deep (13 cm) x 12.63 in high (32 cm).
Opening (picture size): 4.75 in wide (12 cm) x 6.68 in high (17 cm).
Base alone: 13.38 in wide (34 cm) x 5.13 in deep (13 cm) x 3.57 in high (9 cm).
Etched front glass panel: 16.57 in wide (42 cm) x 12.19 in high (31 cm).
