About the Item
Elegant pair of large solid walnut frames, made in the early decades of the twentieth century and featuring fine engraved decoration with floral and plant motifs. The designs, inspired by the natural symbologies of the Belle Époque, clearly evoke Italian Art Nouveau and French Art Nouveau tastes, with sinuous lines and floral stylizations of great harmony. The two frames, identical in structure but with different orientation (one horizontal, the other vertical), probably furnished the same room. They can also be sold separately. Horizontal frame: 132 x 108 cm - interior light 71 x 96.5 cm Vertical frame: 103 x 133 cm - interior light 69 x 97 cm Very condition. Present some old woodworm holes, not active, treatable as a preventive measure. Recommended only light polishing and surface cleaning to enhance its original patina. Authentic frames, perfect for enhancing early twentieth-century paintings or mirrors.
