About the Item

Designed by Matteo Casalegno Picture is the three-dimensional picture of an environment that evokes relaxation, moments of reflection, inner enrichment, functional summary of those that continue to be among the most interpreted objects in the history of design. Hence the acronym SCR or Suspended Relax Corner. Picture is a corner for reading. The clean lines and the technique used seek the contrast between the synthesis between aesthetics, ergonomics, functionality, and the pure communication of sensations. Picture: a bookcase, an armchair, a lamp and a support surface in a frame. The bookcase is composed of three floors for books, plus one with a serving table; the coffee table, supported by a thin stainless steel structure, is in green alps marble with beveled edges. The plans for the books are rectangular, in Canaletto walnut, with invisible fixing elements the armchair, defined by padded parts in the form of simple geometric solids, deliberately minimalist, in soft vintage leather, is pleasantly ergonomic. The fabric lamp with brass finishes, with pure shapes, reveals a desire for non-ideological essentiality, for simplicity, which wants to contribute to the sense of serenity that is sought. The frame is the keystone of picture, it is the element without which picture would not exist structurally and conceptually. In fact, not only does it enclose and organically compose the bookcase, the armchair and the lamp, three elements with their own life, in a framework that fixes the space and consolidates the common character but is a decisive part of the elements that characterize the spirit of the place in the architectural meaning of the term.
