Victorian Deep Well Walnut Frame with Gilt Accents, Matted Under Glass

About the Item

Victorian deep well walnut and etched plaster frame matted under glass, late 19th-early 20th century. Elegant handcrafted wood frame layered with an ebonized band, a decorated, etched plaster inner frame with carved gilt wood trim and original soft mint colored mat with gold edge under glass. May be used in vertical or horizontal orientation though it is fashioned for landscape display. Under glass size is 7 3/4"w x 9 1/2"h and under mat is 3 3/4"w x 5 3/8"h.

Unique Italian Renaissance style etagere stand, c. late 18th century. A masterfully crafted stand of figured walnut featuring a single paneled drawer with a finished interior and two shelves between Renaissance style end supports. A beautifully made piece joined with a type of mortise and tenon where the mortise part is cleverly hidden. The tray form top has two sturdy, carved handles and back lip edge.
