About the Item
Abstract wooden sculpture by Frans Nielen (1933-2010), The Netherlands 1974. Nielen started his career as a painter and later went into the direction op sculptor. This sculpture is an early example of his steps into sculpting, from the late 1970 - early 1980s Nielen focussed on sculptures inspired by primitive Indian tribes. The sculpture is carved out of a large piece of Oregan Pine and shows an fascinating representation. Made with a great expression resulting in interesting shapes en depth with a varied textured surface. In excellent condition.
