- Large Abstract Studio Pottery Stoneware 'Pagoda Pot' by Alan Ashpool England 70sLocated in Sherborne, DorsetA stunning three hooped ‘Pagoda Pot’ by Dorset potter Alan Ashpool, with a flared bowl to the top, tiered forms made from a mixture of thrown and slipcast sections joined together, culminating in a bell shaped base. Predominantly in an ecru colourway, followed by a dark grey glaze, then a turquoise/blue glaze, culminating in a stunning bronze manganese glaze. There are also beautiful blue flecks in the ecru finish, which were created in the firing process. A wonderfully impressive and tactile piece measuring 40cm in height, in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Alan Ashpool backstamp to the base alongside the original address label.
