Delve into the world of French ceramics iconic twin brothers, Robert and Jean Cloutier. Born in Paris in 1930, these twin artists sculpted their way through life together until Robert's passing in 2008. Trained at the Meaux School of Ceramics, they honed their craft under the guidance of renowned artists like Georges Jouve and Pol Chambost.
In 1955, they founded their Paris ceramic workshop, crafting utilitarian pieces adorned with anthropomorphic and zoomorphic motifs, mythological elements, and vibrant "Cloutier Rouge" enamel. They exhibited widely and collaborated with prestigious brands, leaving an indelible mark on mid-20th century ceramic art. Their artistic prowess extended to interior architecture projects for notable establishments.
After settling in Marsillargues in 1978, they continued to create decorative marvels. Robert passed away in 2008, followed by Jean in 2015, celebrated through tribute exhibitions in 2015 and 2016.
