Brazilian Marble Sculpture Collection from Estúdio Mais Alma
About the Item
Mais Alma Marble Sculptures Collection is a set of pieces which brings our study of forms and the art works we pay homage to in our studio. They are the result of handling four types of Brazilian marble: Yellow Bamboo, Victoria Falls, Emerald Green, Moulin Rouge and Negroni.
Two pieces (1rst and 7th from left to right) are a tribute to the Polish painter Tamara de Lempicka, an iconic artist of the Art Déco movement. Her unmistakable signature is a blend of the modernity of a triumphant industrial society with luxury and sensuality. She wanted her style to be "clean" and elegant, with bright, clear colors and polished lines.
Two pieces (2nd and 4th from left to right) are a tribute to Les Demoiselles D'Avignon from Picasso. In 1907, the artist presented to some close friends the painting that is considered the precursor of the cubist movement, the work "Les Demoiselles D'Avignon". It opened the path to the presence of more than two dimensions and many styles on a single canvas. In this design piece we sought to reproduce the use of geometric shapes, so present in the cubist movement.
Three pieces (3rd, 5th and 6th from left to right) are a tribute to the Brazilian artist Tarsila do Amaral. The artist played a key role in the emergence of Brazil’s modernism movement, with her unmistakable signature, and its vivid colors and rounded shapes.
