Bright Red Ceramic Sculpture, Hand Built, Six Soft Rectangles on Angled Legs

About the Item

Part of an ongoing exploration into the sculptural family of Modern Totemic Forms and Objects, all hand built in ceramic stoneware. They are "modern" in the Mid-Century Modern vein. They reference furniture and architecture, and even human-like life forms. This piece is composed of 6 rounded rectangles on angled legs, each part hand formed by the artist. The varied sizes of the rectangles and the play of balance adds to a dynamic presence. It is strong on its own but welcomes companion pieces to create the 'family' . It is the warmth of the ceramic sculpture that makes it lovely at home. When grouped with one or 2 other pieces, it creates a conversation and invokes thoughts of family and community. Fully hand formed, fired twice. Artist's signature and chop underneath.
