About the Item

Eccentric sculpture by the master Biagio Romeo, depicting a metamorphosis of fish fossils. Made of bronze with black painted wooden base. The peculiarity of the sculpture is its double key of reading in fact it has double face. The sculpture is in excellent condition. The work is part of the collection "Manifestato", numbered. Signature of the author present on the work. To the master B.Romeo is dedicated a permanent in Sicily. Biagio Romeo: "The artist was born in Comiso in 1926, a pupil of another great sculptor, the master Biagio Lucenti. After studying and specializing in the art of shaping materials and shapes in Rome, Milan opens its doors to him. His first exhibition, with critical and public success, saw him as the protagonist at the Barbaroux Gallery: "Poetry of Forms", the title of the newspapers. But Biagio Romeo did not forget Comiso. He returns and returns, between one prize and another, like the one he received in Taormina in 1978, the "David d´Oro". In Comiso, Biagio Romeo today bequeaths his works that add value to a city already known for its art". The works of the master are influenced by the lesson of the classics and the great Rodin.

Biagio Romeo Sculpture Resine Mesozoic Era, Signed, 1995
By Romeo
Located in Milano, IT
Beautiful bronze and wood sculpture designed in 1995, fine Italian manufacture. Signed. The base is made of lacquered black wood. This form serves as a pedestal for the actual sculpture. The main body is a sculpture representing the Mesozoic era, in fact we see the sculpture of a kind of animal reminiscent of a fish or a marine mollusc, with scales and fins very different from those of today. Clearly the Mesozoic era harks back to a time when animals were evolving and have continued to evolve subsequently. The sculpture is very beautiful and suitable for decorating classy areas. Biagio Romeo Woman Sculpture, Signed 1996
By Romeo
Located in Milano, IT
Beautiful bronze and wood sculpture designed in 1996, fine Italian manufacture. SIGNED. The base is made of lacquered black wood. This form serves as a pedestal for the actual sculpture. The main body is represented by an entirely nude bronze woman, kneeling. The woman is seated on a rock, on which the artist's signature is carved. The woman is represented in a contorted position: in fact, she is seated with one knee on the ground, while her entire weight pivots on the other. With one arm she touches the ground to keep her balance while with the other she touches her head, as if she wanted to be photographed. The woman is completely naked and we can see this from her obvious breasts, but her bottom is also visible. The woman seems to represent a person who wants to be looked at, proudly showing herself in her nudity. A hymn to female nudity and to the beauty and harmony of the body. The sculpture is very beautiful and suitable for decorating classy areas. Bibliography: Biagio Romeo...
