Brutalist Bronze Sculpture on Marble Base, Man and Machine, 1970s
About the Item
This stunning modern brutalist bronze sculpture from the 1970s depicts an allegory of man and machine (or worker) with a beautiful original dark green patina. The design holds the attention from every angle, and the shape is intentionally raw and hollow at the back. The statue rests on its original base in variegated white or gray marble. A typical brutalist works through form and material, beautiful and alive. This sculpture is both sophisticated and quirky. There is no visible maker's mark.
