About the Item
California Pop artist Tony Berlant discovered his medium, discarded metal advertising signs, while living in Venice Beach in the 1960s. His application of pre-printed signage onto the cube form became his signature technique. Using steel brads to attach the reconfigured metal to the wood base the cube has a wonderfully tactile quality on all six sides. To add to the sensory experience this cube rattles softly when shaken.
