Design Murano Glass Blue Sphere by Alberto Donà, Italy, 1980s.
This unique artwork is simply outstanding. A vintage masterpiece by the renowned Italian artist Alberto Donà, entirely handmade in the island of Murano in the 1980s with blown glass.
The sphere is colored in sandblast blue with submerged black and white glass canes whose geometrical shapes resemble water ripples. There is a small open mouth on the side, at the center of the colored glass canes decorations.
This artwork is in perfect original condition, as documented in the attached photos.

Alberto Donà
Alberto Donà, born in Italy in 1944, began working in the glass field at the age of 13 and became known for his ability with colors and creativity in generating unique combinations, hence his valued collaborations with important companies such as Venini, Saporiti that have relied on Donà for glass accessories. In October 2001, he had a one-man show at the Vassel Art Gallery in London. He was selected to furnish the lighting for the Hiroshima Memorial Museum.
