About the Item

Echo Form No. 2 - Hand-Coiled Grey Stoneware Sculpture by Rachel Peters. Echo Form No. 2 is a hand-built ceramic sculpture crafted from coarse grey stoneware clay using the traditional coiling method. The second in a series exploring rhythm, repetition, and spatial tension, its looping, upright forms suggest a visual language that is both abstract and intuitive. Vertical gestures rise and dip in sequence, punctuated by softened curves and open voids that invite light and movement. The raw, textured surface of the grogged clay enhances its tactile presence, grounding the piece in material honesty and the meditative nature of hand-building. As with all of Rachel Peters’ work, this sculpture draws on the refined simplicity of Danish design and the expressive vocabulary of modernist sculpture. Bold yet quiet, Echo Form No. 2 holds space with calm strength, inviting touch, pause, and interpretation.
