Elvio Becheroni Sculpture, Defending Yourself from destruction, Amazonia series

About the Item

"Defending Yourself from destruction," a striking sculpture by the gifted artist Elvio Becheroni, stands as a poignant chapter in his "Amazonia" series of the disenchanted forest, born in the year 1992. Crafted with noble Pau Brazil wood, its origins trace back to trunks salvaged from the devastating fires that marred the Amazon forest during the relentless march of deforestation. In its profound essence, each of Becheroni's creations is a potent denunciation of the grave and ongoing issue of Amazon deforestation. At the heart of Becheroni's art lies an unshakable belief in the delicate symbiosis between humanity and nature. His work is a hymn to hope, a testament to memory, and a tribute to remembrance, echoing the very essence of the trees that bore witness to the ravages of time. The wood, painstakingly gathered during the artist's extensive sojourns in Brazil, holds within it the spirit of the Amazon. With each piece, Becheroni carries a piece of the forest's soul, a tangible connection to the untamed beauty that is slowly fading away. In "Defending Yourself from Destruction," Becheroni's vision unfolds in a powerful manner. The sculpture takes on a form adorned with long spines, meticulously crafted from wood. These spines symbolize protection, a defense mechanism against the grave transgressions of humanity upon the natural world. They stand tall and unwavering, like guardians of the forest, resolute in their mission to shield against harm. This sculpture is more than a piece of art; it is a statement. It serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect and preserve our environment. It urges us to reflect on the consequences of our actions and to consider the fragile balance that sustains our world. For those who hold nature dear, "Defending Yourself from destruction," is more than just a furnishing accessory; it is a powerful emblem of their commitment to the cause. It resonates with those who firmly believe that we must defend nature as fervently as nature has defended us throughout the ages. In "Defending Yourself from Destruction," Elvio Becheroni has given voice to the Amazon, to the trees, and to the silent plea of the earth itself. It is a work of art that speaks to the soul, an emotional testament to our duty to protect the natural world and to secure a better future for generations to come.

  • Biagio Romeo Woman Sculpture, Signed 1996
    By Romeo
    Located in Milano, IT
Beautiful bronze and wood sculpture designed in 1996, fine Italian manufacture. SIGNED. The base is made of lacquered black wood. This form serves as a pedestal for the actual sculpture. The main body is represented by an entirely nude bronze woman, kneeling. The woman is seated on a rock, on which the artist's signature is carved. The woman is represented in a contorted position: in fact, she is seated with one knee on the ground, while her entire weight pivots on the other. With one arm she touches the ground to keep her balance while with the other she touches her head, as if she wanted to be photographed. The woman is completely naked and we can see this from her obvious breasts, but her bottom is also visible. The woman seems to represent a person who wants to be looked at, proudly showing herself in her nudity. A hymn to female nudity and to the beauty and harmony of the body. The sculpture is very beautiful and suitable for decorating classy areas. Bibliography: Biagio Romeo...
