Ernst Fuchs (Born 1930 Vienna, acting ibid) "Silver Sphinx" original title (Silbersphinx) 925 sterling silver. Signature and foundry mark "Strassacker Kunstguss Süssen". On a triple stepped black marble base, loosely lying. No. 255 of 299 pieces. A stooped female nude with feathered head, resting in sphinx-like posture on her forearms and thighs. Already in 1977, Fuchs, the main representative of Fantastic Realism, as the predecessor of this work, designed his "Sphinx I" as a bronze sculpture, which he had cast in a limited silver edition with a different base in 1994.
