About

Modern pantone color fine ceramic object of Art with handle by Yves Paquette Yves Paquette - "My work reflects aspects of my personal life experience. I draw inspiration for the making of my sculptures form nature, domestic, and industrial objects, usually with a function to them. The objects which I refer to are generally easily recognizable. However, by removing the objects from their natural or functional contexts, as a goal, I try to challenge the viewer’s perceptions and create a sense of mystery. I never abstract beyond recognition, but by exaggerating, minimizing, or distorting certain aspects, I work to bring the objects closer to the viewer and to raise questions. What is this for? And What does it do? How do these things relate to each other? Creating intricate and well-crafted sculptures is important to me, and I strive to create aesthetically pleasing sculptures. With each form, I want to show the essential beauty of these objects, and I strive to combine these elements harmoniously when pairing them. I enjoy the chemistry of glaze formulating as it allows me to create surfaces that are unique and non-typical for ceramics objects".
