About the Item
Red Swarm was made by hand using the ancient technique of coiling with ropes of clay. I use stoneware clay which in this instance has then been decorated with liquid red porcelain and black underglaze.
Rather than imposing a fixed visual interpretation, I extend an invitation to the observer's hand, urging exploration of the forms beyond the confines of the eye. My intent is to elicit a myriad of memories, a cascade of recollections capable of morphing from one moment to the next. This prompts connections that surpass the cerebral, delving into the intrinsic.
