About the Item

ReMask project is a series of Unique objects (one of kind) developed and created by the designer Enrico Girott. The real surgical mask are remodeled by hand, keeping the original object inside a new skin into new ideal perimeter, than through electrochemical process becoming real metal then gold; This are the number 009 and come with a signed Certificate of authenticity Enrico Girotti original art object. More information: A psychomagic act to overwrite a memory, to construct a new possible dimension, to evoke ancient perspectives, in order to free and regenerate ourselves. An action rather than a reaction. Art to learn to be conscious and happy. In the face of the rediscovered limitations of our mental categories and reductionism, we increasingly realize that it is essential to return to our original self, to rediscover the benefits of the instinctual and imaginal, eluding ideological mediation. In this sense, it is possible to draw upon myths as conductors that, through recognized symbolism, allow us to settle our inner conflicts and pursue happiness. The symbolic power connected to the god Pan reemerges, capable of making the unconscious conscious to the self, but to do so, it is necessary to reactivate a type of perception and experience of images to which our history over time has relentlessly attempted to deny access.page1image29083472 Immersed in this awareness, Enrico Girotti, inspired by the panical theory conceived by Alejandro Jodorowsky, performs a sort of “psychomagic act” through his works of art. He regenerates the semantic value of the surgical mask, an unfortunately more frequently used object in recent years, by overwriting its perception through a new configuration, the use of new materials, a series of new forms, and a new function. Recalling alchemy, the artist hand models this object, covers it with new skin, then transforms it into metal through an electrochemical process and finally into incorruptible gold. The change in function, together with new characteristics of solidity, brightness, hardness, and resistance, and the new archetypal value that some call “solar value,” connected to the gold metal, are aspects used by Artifex Enrico Girotti to show a new possible reality where the creative act acquires more importance than quantity, where uniqueness prevails over mass. The artist’s surrealist sculptures are characterized by an original and instinctive plastic language that leads to a multitude of interpretations that inhabit the absolute, stimulating a timeless fascination, in agreement with the panical vision of which they are carriers. Finally, the title “ReMask Project” suggests a correlation with the myth of King Midas, alluding to the necessity that each of us learns to produce within ourselves that state of inner grace capable of transforming our consciousness into gold, that is, into joy, once purified by the constructive choice of what needs to be transformed.
