Sculpture Transmutation XLA1, Exploded Pewter in a Melting Pot

About

In stock: This piece of art is a pure Alchemy experimentation with pewter, made in France. It is made of melted pewter being subjected to hot-cold thermal shock. Cooled bubbles, craters, metal lace, emerged from this secret experimentation. This is of course a unique piece, sold with its “Certificate of Authenticity”. Born of his insatiable quest to explore fantasy worlds, Xavier Lavergne's work invokes magnetic phenomena, alchemy, morphogenesis, organic structures and terrestrial forces. Behind closed doors a rigorous process of research and experimentation, brings forth an ebullient cast of characters: jewels of the night sky, colored bubbles from the bowels of the planet, crocodile skins, beetles, and comets crashing exuberantly to Earth. His creations take up residence in the homes of a lucky few, ripe for close-up observation, to perhaps reveal their hidden sense.

About The Maker

Xavier Lavergne is a qualified architect who has worked with the epitome of French excellence such as the Palace of Versailles. In recent times he has shifted his focus to design, seeking to explore the immediacy of the relationship between the piece and the creator. He defines French excellence as powerful artistry, expert craftsmanship, work that comes alive and improves with age. Xavier believes that a utilitarian object must be more than merely functional and attractive. It speaks not only to the eye, but to the spirit. Born of his insatiable quest to explore fantasy worlds, his work invokes alchemy, morphogenesis, organic structures and terrestrial forces. Behind closed doors a rigorous process of research and experimentation brings forth an ebullient cast of characters: jewels of the night sky, colored bubbles from the bowels of the planet, crocodile skins, beetles, and comets crashing exuberantly to Earth. His creations take up residence in the homes of a lucky few, ripe for close-up observation, to perhaps reveal their hidden sense. This art is crafted primarily from the purest cast pewter, the fourth precious metal after silver. It can be projected, then frozen solid upon its ice-cold target, or combined with precious Venice Murano glass, brass grains or mineral materials. All the table tops are made in France and 95 % of the table legs. His brand is growing success with luxury residence and hotels. All shapes, dimensions, and legs design are available.
