"Spirale" glass object by Studio Salvadore, made on Murano ca. 2015

About the Item

A great Murano Glass vessel type object with a "Spirale", made by Marco and Mattia Salvadore with their team at Studio Salvadore on Murano ca. 2015. A mosaic of transparent blue-grey and opaque yellow canes - those pretreated with special cutting - was fused and rolled up on the glass pipe to make this playful object, using glassmaking skills that have been passed on in this family on the Island since the 17th century. The "Spirali" is an affordable series of objects, done by the same team that does unique monumental sculptures, which retail for five digit prices. These smaller objects skillfully use the characteristics of the material by letting the light play with it's combination of opacity and transparency. They are great eye-catchers, solo or in a group setting and work well in any situation with good natural or artificial lighting.
