About the Item
A great looking abstract Murano glass sculpture, attributed to be from the hands of Ermanno Nason, definitely made in the workshop of Cenedese Murano. The blue plate seems to have been cast into oil sand, giving the glass a bumpy structure and some archaic looking inclusions on the backside. The front has then been decorated with applications, featuring that abstract pattern in blue, green and red, reminiscent of the work of fine art masters like Jean "Hans" Arp, who was in fact one of the artists for whom Ermanno Nason executed his art in glass at Fucina degli Angeli on Murano around the same time. The blue plate has been joined with a Alexandrite glass base, that is so very typical for Cenedese. This likely unique piece has been acquired by the previous owner from Cenedese.
