About the Item

Experimenting with new forms with red earth from Ibiza Earthenware, resins, assemblages, shapes and colours. For some time, I had the desire to work with clay, and living in Ibiza during the winter, I was drawn to this wonderful material to experiment with its technical and expressive processes. The island of Ibiza has preserved large, wild, and unspoiled natural areas, and even those cultivated by humans evoke an ancient form of agriculture, where time seems to stand still, connecting with its primordial aspects. These visual stimuli and the contact with such strong, authentic nature were the driving force behind my experimentation with clay. What a wonderful journey… shaping the material, feeling its texture between my fingers, and watching the form grow and take shape in my hands is an experience that connects you with your deeper self, naturally leading you into a meditative state. To create my pieces, I predominantly used the coil technique, which predates the potter’s wheel and was used by early humans for their first creations. For inspiration, I turned to nature, with which I have always had a deep love, as well as to symbols and spiritual experiences that have been part of my life’s journey. Made with iron, resin, terracotta. Unique piece The complete price for the sculpture, including the base, requires an additional €2,000 (excluding VAT) on top of the list price.

Giacomo Onestini ceramic sculpture Italy 1970
By Giacomo Onestini
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Beautiful ceramic sculpture designed by Giacomo Onestini made in his own atelier in Italy in 1970. It has a combination of matte and shiny glazed surfaces. The back and sides of the sculpture have a textured surface with shades of gray, green, and sometimes turquoise. On the front, there's a carved-out section that's smooth and glazed with red and gold hues. It's a very appealing and intriguing piece. You can find the artist's signature, "Onestini," on the side of the sculpture. This piece was created in the artist's personal studio. Very nice large sized, heavy piece and in excellent condition. After graduating as a master ceramist, Onestini moved to San Marino where he found employment at the "Marmaca" ceramics factory. Around the end of the 1950s, he moved to Salerno and began working with the "Ernestine...
