About the Item
A powerful piece with terrific presence, this large mixed media sculpture by American artist Thomas A. Bartel (b. 1949) shows a myriad of inspirations and influences. There are forms which reference nature and anthropomorphic shapes connected by both industrial hardware and natural jute rope. It is compelling from every angle and the totem-esque design harkens to indigenous culture. Hand signed by the artist.
