About

Monty J's otherworldly living sculptures create a dreamlike sculptural interpretation of the natural world. "Tish" is made from hand-built ceramic with a metallic glaze with a worn bronze finish, brass wire, thread, and an air plant. The sculpture measures 17.5" H x 13" W x 7" D. Spray plant with water twice per week. Monty J combines ceramic and mixed media with exotic plants, specifically chosen for each sculpture to create an ethereal collection of objects. Each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. Monty J. Mattison (b. Detroit, MI) - known simply as Monty J - toils through the night perfecting his exquisite living sculptures. Monty has recently exhibited work at Greenpoint Hill, The Future Perfect and Barneys New York. His work has been featured in T Magazine and was included in the Greenpoint Hill collection noted as the Best in Brooklyn Designs 2018 by Architectural Digest.
