Toshiko Takaezu Ceramic Wall Hanging Tile
About the Item
Ceramic wall tile by Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) circa 1980s purchased by the original owner who was a personal friend of Takaezu's and was part of her collection of numerous pieces by the artist, there is a faint mark on the back that appears to be her markers signature. The tile has earth tone glazes and what appears to be an abstract mountain scene. Takaezu is widely know as a ceramic artist but her work included weavings, bronzes, and paintings and her work is in numerous museums across the country.
