Two Signed Vintage Venini Hourglasses Designed By Paolo Venini For Venini
About the Item
A pair of vintage Venini "Clessidre" or hourglasses designed by Paolo Venini in the 1950's. The green / blue hourglass measures approximately 9 3/8 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide, the green / red hourglass measures approximately 5 7/8 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches wide. Both pieces are acid itched: Venini / Murano / Italia. The signature on the green / blue piece is somewhat legible, the signature on the green / red piece is barely legiable and difficult to see. The signature denotes the pieces as being made between 1946 to 1965 / 1966. Since the hourglass was designed in the 1950's the production date is probably 1950's to 1965 / 1966.
