Vintage Mid-Century Brutalist Lucite Freeform Sculpture
About the Item
A sculptural interpretation of an organic shape that is enigmatic, poised and unpredictable. A study in form, this vintage lucite piece dates to the early 1960s. In essence it is minimal and clean but conjures with a brutalist presence. Ondulations, texture and motion collide in a piece that is delicate like ripples in water but raw and thoughtful at the same time. This sculpture stands on a pedestal as it develops upwards in an overbalanced shape that is creature-like, in almost a marine-like or amoeba form. 4 Jet like orifices reside and ondulate thru the ice like form. The provenance of this piece is connected to collectors that procured C.Jere, Hivo Van Teal among others. This magnificent piece captures your attention and imagination and as is as fluid as it is impactful. A true art object.
