About the Item
Yellow Patchwork, 2023 (Ceramic, C. 11.7 in. h x 10.2 in. w x 6.2 in. d, Object No.: 4202)
Jongjin Park was born in South Korea in 1982 and lives and works in Seoul. He holds an MA in Ceramics from Cardiff University in the UK and is the recipient of several prestigious awards.
The artist harmoniously combines materials that are seemingly at odds with one another to create his sublime vases and sculptural vessels. He paints porcelain slips onto single sheets of everyday paper towels. Jongjin then layers up to 1000 individual sheets of paper to form spectacular mille-feuille vessels with amazingly colorful and surprising textures. The innovative technique was developed by Park based on his experience with the centuries-old Moonjar craft, a process that evolved during the Imperial Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897).900

1960 Bertoncello Italian Vintage Abstract Sculpture Brown Red Beige Ceramic Vase
By Bertoncello, Roberto Rigon

Create a sculptural arrangement of organic shapes, combining style statement and functionality with these Italian vintage earthenware Art pieces: a group of 5 Mid-Century Modern different ceramics is available, 4 vases and a bowl/catch-all, by Bertoncello and designer Roberto Rigon, showing inspiration from Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore work. This particular postmodern abstract sculpture vase, quite innovative for the period and particularly in the mid 20th-century ceramic sector, has a sleek slanted slice quite unexpectedly decorated with a hole in the Silhouette, leaving the admirer the feeling of looking at the moon in the night sky.
