19th Century Terracotta Sculpture of a Monkey

French or Italian, 19th century. ​A wonderfully amusing naturalistically sculpted pottery seated monkey. Crouched and facing forwards with its arms resting on its knees, the monkeys face with great attention to details and fitted with eyes of glass that pick up the light from behind and shine brightly. Measures: Height 17.5in. Width 13.5in. ​Depth 10in.
