Incredible craftsmanship from early 1900s Switzerland.
This type of detail and finesse in Black Forest carvings is a rare find. The quality of the natural poisture, the rare design with the incredibly detailed and large basket out of branches that this bear is carrying, the axe he is holding, his growling mouth with all his teeth still there, they are all signs of a finest quality and very rare carving. Add to that the perfect patina and its mint condition and together they make this Black Forest lumberjack bear a real collector's item and great value for money. This superbly hand carved sculpture makes the perfect desk piece, but displayed on a side or end table with some candy (or otherwise) in the stunning basket, this antique work of art from Switzerland will never fail to impress either.
