About the Item

An important bronze with a brown patina, signed by the French sculptor Jules Edmond Masson (1871-1932). Son and student of Clovis Masson, this artist is known for his extreme precision in animal art and orientalist scenes. This work depicts an English Setter lying down, holding a hare in its paws. The dog's posture, which seems to be patiently waiting for its master with its prey, is upright, and its gaze extends into the distance.
