Bronze Monkey Sculpture MCM Artist Unknown
About the Item
This bronze monkey was created in the mid-century. Richly detailed with an incredibly expressive face, the money has a gorgeous patina only time can deliver.
21" tall, 15" wide, and 16" deep, the money weighs a substantial 60 pounds. I am unable to locate the artist's signature or mark. It is possibly on the bottom but obstructed by markings.
This money was acquired from the estate of a Connecticut collector and for years, I had it stationed at the top of a treacherous staircase. Though I have been aggressively tempted to move it outdoors near my antique French cement antelope, I declined to expose it to nature. I've enjoyed it for years and it's now time to pass it alone.
Highly detailed, expressive and impossible to ignore.
