About the Item
This whimsical antique bronze sculpture was done by Eutrope Bouret of France in approximately 1890 in the period Empire style. This very well executed bronze sculpture depicts two young boys riding on the back of a tortoise and holding the reigns. The sculpture is extremely well executed showing considerable details of both the children and the tortoise. The sculpture is clearly signed "Bouret" on the back of the tortoise's shell.
