Horse Figure by Lisa Larson

Made of partially glazed stoneware, this affecting little horse is beautifully modeled and detailed. The blue/black glaze sparingly highlights the contours of the horse's form in an almost architectural way. The overall effect is a sophisticated halfway-point between an archaeological artifact and a very modern child's plaything.
