Exquisite Japanese contemporary porcelain bear sculpture, intricately hand-painted in blue, yellow and green in an aupicious traditional Nabeshima technique. The patchwork composition of the pattern creates a charming bear sculpture.
It is a work by Japanese artist from the historic Imari-Arita region of Japan.
The face and feet are hand-painted in the elaborate traditional underglaze blue or "sometuke" technique.
This striking bear is from the limited edition series of four bear sculptures. They are hand-painted in a variety of auspicious traditional porcelain patterns.
